The Countdown (Literature & Fiction)
1 chapters   —   updated May 14, 2015 03:38AM
Description: The time is ticking. Everyone has their own special watch given to them the day they are born. We are never told how the clocks are set, but they count down the day till you die. Doctors have done studies that prove when one knows he/she is going to lose someone, he/she goes through the grieving process quicker. We base our whole life off of our watches. They tell us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. Any meetings or appointments we have are put into the watch calendar. They also keep track of our heart and breathing rate and weight. Each one also has our name engraved and our medical history in the data base. They also have GPS tracking systems in them. There is one rule about them: they are NEVER to be taken off. The band that the watch is on is unbreakable. As you get bigger, the doctors adjust and stretch the band. No one knows exactly how the doctors do these things; when ever doctors have to make an adjustment, the patient is asleep. I've never herd of anyone's band breaking. I have herd rumors that peoples watches have stopped for no reason ad it drives the doctors crazy! But I've never met anyone whose watch has stopped and I don't know anyone who has met someone like that. But are the watches always accurate? Can the times be changed? Would you want to know your last day?
